GRIDIRONPICK'EM

Quick Start Guide

Here's how to get the most out of Gridiron Pick'em in a few simple steps.

STEP 1

Create or Join a League

From the Home tab, create a new league and share the join code with friends, or join an existing league with a code. Your active league is remembered across sessions.

STEP 2

Navigate with 5 Tabs

The bottom navigation bar has five tabs: Home, Overview, Picks, Standings, and Messages. Tap any tab to jump to that section. This Quick Start guide is accessible via the button next to Invite Friends in the league overview header.

STEP 3

Set Your Name & Avatar

Open the Overview tab, then tap Profile in Quick Actions to set your display name and avatar.

STEP 4

Make Your Weekly Picks

Go to the Picks tab and tap the team you think will cover the spread. Picks lock at kickoff. Use Bulk Entry to pick all games at once, or Quick Pick for individual selections. New picks are saved as drafts β€” tap Submit Picks for Grading to lock them in.

STEP 5

Keep Picks Private

On the Picks page, toggle Keep Picks Private to hide your picks from other league members until kickoff β€” great for competitive leagues that want to avoid copy-cat picks.

STEP 6

Sync to Your Calendar

Use the Calendar Sync tool on the Picks page to add your picked games to Google Calendar or download an .ics file.

STEP 7

Compare Picks on the Pick Board

Open the Pick Board from Quick Actions to see every member's picks for the current week side by side in one table. Team logos show who picked what, with win/loss coloring once games go final, a per-game consensus tally, and a Hide Pre-Kickoff toggle. Members who keep picks private stay locked until kickoff.

STEP 8

Track Standings

Visit the Standings tab to see weekly results, season-long rankings, win streaks, cumulative performance charts, and the global league leaderboard.

STEP 9

Export a Week Archive

On the Archives tab, pick any week and export that week's standings and full pick results to a new Google Sheet for external record-keeping. Any league member can run an export.

STEP 10

Make Season Predictions

Pick your AFC Champion, NFC Champion, and Super Bowl winner for bonus points. Submit before the season starts to earn DOUBLE points (6 pts per conference champ, 10 pts for the Super Bowl). Standard points (3 pts and 5 pts) apply if submitted after the season starts but before Week 3's first game. Predictions lock when Week 3 kicks off and reopen the day after the Super Bowl.

STEP 11

Claim Teams on the Draft Board

Open the Draft Board from Quick Actions to browse all 32 NFL teams by division. Claim your favorite team or release one you no longer want β€” first come, first served.

STEP 12

Compare Leagues

Use League vs League to compare your league's performance head-to-head against another league.

STEP 13

Chat & Trash Talk

Open the Messages tab to switch between League chat, the Interleague Lounge, and Direct Messages. Use Multi-Select to broadcast a message to several members at once, and browse your DM history anytime.

STEP 14

Rename Your League

Commissioners can rename the league by tapping the pencil icon next to the league name on the league page. This is only available before the first game of the season kicks off.

STEP 15

Sync Full Schedule

Commissioners can use Schedule Sync in the league overview to fetch all 18 weeks of the NFL regular season from ESPN at once, with a live progress bar. You can also download the full schedule as a CSV file.

STEP 16

Customize Your Banner

Commissioners can add a custom image, text, animation, and music to the league banner from the league overview header.

STEP 17

Download the PDF Guide

Use the Download PDF Guide button above to get a comprehensive reference of every button and graph in the app, perfect for sharing with new league members.
